Tyler Wimsatt picks Cards
They just keep coming. The past week has seen the Louisville football secure verbal commitments from eight prospects and now the number has grown again, as Owensboro High School's Tyler Wimsatt chose to end his recruiting process. "I called Coach Summers and committed," Wimsatt told InsideTheVille.com on Friday morning. "He was pretty excited about it." Wimsatt, who will make his official with Louisville the weekend of January 7, said becoming a Cardinal just felt right. "It's what I wanted to do," he said. "I liked it up there and it felt right for me." The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder was forced to play quarterback for much of his season, but displayed the type of running ability that has U of L head coach Bobby Petrino prefers to use in his balanced offense. "They said that they want me as a running back," said Wimsatt, who rushed for 770 yards and 8 touchdowns, while also throwing for an additional 541 yards. Wimsatt, who selected Louisville over offers from Ohio and Kentucky, becomes the 17th prospect to extend a verbal commitment with the Cardinal program.
