Luther Davis set to visit Louisville?

Last week, Scout.com five-star prospect Luther Davis of West Monroe, Louisiana told InsideTheVille.com that he was anticipating a written offer from the Louisville coaching staff at any point. The nation's no.5 defensive end has received the expected offer and spoke with ITV to share his thoughts about the latest to join his lengthy list of suitors

Scout.com five-star defensive end Luther Davis has added another scholarship offer to his collection that has already eclipsed the two dozen mark.

"The offer from Louisville came in today," Davis told InsideTheVille.com on Friday afternoon.

While his list of offers includes programs such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and USC, Davis explained that Louisville will receive strong consideration.

"Just the fact that they offered me was a pretty big thing," Davis said. "It's a blessing for me to get opportunities like that."

"I talked to Coach Whitt and Coach Petrino about it today," he continued. "They were telling me that they have high expectations for me."

They also appear to have expectations of a future visit from the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Davis.

"We kind of scheduled a visit for me to come up there for the Miami game," said Davis. "I don't know it will be an official visit yet or not."

As a junior, Davis recorded 74 tackles, including 14 for a loss and 8 sacks. He also registered 11 QB hurries, forced 4 fumbles and blocked two field goals for the Class 5A State Champions. Following the 2005 season he was honored as an All-State, All-NE Louisiana and All-District.
