Louisville dominated from the outset of it's Saturday afternoon matchup with Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Cardinals offense moved with ease, while the defense kept the host Owls scoreless

After failing to reach the end zone on it's first two possessions, Louisville's offense scored on it's next ten and coasted to an easy 62-0 win over the host Temple Owls.

Quarterback Brian Brohm threw for 307 yards, connecting with sophomore receiver Mario Urrutia five times for 110 yards and a score. The Cardinals ground game rushed for an additional 312, with Kolby Smith, George Stripling and Sergio Spencer all gaining over 70 yards.

Harry Douglas added 4 receptions for 58 yards, while Stripling hauled in 3 catches for 82 yards out of the backfield.

The Cardinal defense was just as effective, limiting Temple to just 16 rushing yards and only 230 yards of total offense. Five different defenders recorded a quarterback sack, including true freshman Latarrius Thomas and L.T. Walker.

Senior linebacker Abe Brown led all Cardinal tacklers with a team-high seven stops, while senior cornerback William Gay notched his first interception of the season.

Sophomore cornerback Rod Council was forced to the sideline during the first quarter with a broken ankle.

The 62-0 win was the Cardinals first shutout victory since blanking North Carolina in Chapel Hill during the 2004 season.

Next up for Louisville (2-0) is a date with the Miami Hurricanes (1-1) at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
