Update on a few of the prospects that high on the University of Louisville's coaching staff's want list. InsideTheVille.com will continue to update Louisville's Most Wanted all the way through National Signing Day in early February
This is the first in a series of frequent updates on prospects that are top priority targets for the University of Louisville football coaching staff.
Be sure to look for our second installment of Louisville's Most Wanted on Thursday.
S/WR Mark Barnes
Scout.com National Top 100
Scout.com No.2 Safety Prospect
Scout.com East Top 100
South Carolina No.2 Prospect
Capable of excelling at wide receiver or safety on the collegiate level,
Mark Barnes
of Richland Northeast in Columbia, South Carolina is rated among the top 50 prospects in the nation by Scout.com. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound two-way standout made an official visit with Louisville three weeks ago and lists the Cardinals a slight leader over
Notre Dame
, South Carolina,
USC
and
Virginia Tech
. U of L has offered the U.S. Army All-American nominee the opportunity to try both offense and defense. Barnes currently has no time set for his eventual decision.

Kentucky No.1 Prospect
LOUISVILLE COMMITMENT
While ranked among the top 30 receivers in the country by Scout.com, Louisville Male's
Doug Beaumont
has played primarily at tailback this fall. Through five games the All-State performer has rushed 472 yards and 10 touchdowns. His 10.5 yards per carry average is among the leaders in the state. Always a threat with the ball in his hands, Beaumont has also collected 10 receptions for 168 yards and a score. Also a starter at defensive back, Beaumont has recorded multiple interceptions and pass deflections. Beaumont verbally committed to Louisville during an unofficial visit for the Cardinals 31-7 over Miami.
DL Luther Davis
Scout.com National Top 100
Scout.com No.6 DE Prospect
Scout.com Southeast Top 100
Louisiana No.2 Prospect
6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive lineman prospect
Luther Davis
of West Monroe High School in Louisiana has just about every program in the country seeking his services. Davis nearly made an early verbal commitment on two occasions, but his interest in a few programs has convinced him to make his official visits before making a final choice. Davis made his first stop Louisville when he tripped to the Derby City for the Cardinals match up against the Miami Hurricanes. Visits to Auburn, LSU and USC are still to come for the U.S. Army All-American nominee.

Ohio vs USA Challenge MVP
LOUISVILLE COMMITMENT
It has been clear for a couple of years that the University of Louisville would receive strong consideration by Don Bosco Prep quarterback
Matt Simms
when the time arrived for him to make a decision. For the All-State performer, that time came prior to the start of his senior season at the Ramsey, New Jersey school and the school of choice was U of L. This fall Simms has guided his nationally-ranked team to a perfect 3-0 start. He's currently completing over 65% of his pass attempts and has thrown for more than 400 yards. He earned game MVP for his performance at the recent Kirk Herbstreit Ohio v. USA Challenge.

Williams has already made official visits with Nebraska and N.C. State and is strongly considering Louisville for one of his three remaining trips.
