With National Signing Day less than one month away, massive Enterprise, Ala. Lineman T.J. Barnes is likely to make his decision soon. The three-star prospect visited Louisville last weekend and the Cardinals look to be a major factor come decision time.

"I think it went good," Barnes' coach, Kevin Collins, said of his visit to Louisville. "He's still evaluating the direction he wants to go but I think it went OK. He called me when he got back from the trip just to check in and to tell me it went good."

With his visit to Louisville now behind him, Collins said the 6'6, 320-pound Barnes will likely make his decision very soon, possibly later this week.

"His decision probably needs to come this week sometime," Collins said. "I'm not sure where he's leaning. He's going about it the right way. He's just evaluating everything after he goes on his visits and gets a feel for the place. He's still not to the point to make a decision."

"We're going to sit down and talk about it as soon as we can," Collins added. "I would like for him to be moving in that direction because I know a lot of these schools want to fill their boards up and get commitments. My rule is once my players commit that word is as good as money in the bank. He's getting close."

Barnes has made visits to Georgia Tech and Louisville. Auburn might be in the mix. Troy is also slated to visit him Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets and Cardinals might be the teams to beat for Barnes' services, though local schools like Auburn and Troy could also be factors.

"(Troy) could be a local factor but I don't think it will have much bearing on his decision," Collins said. "I think he is willing, obviously if he travelled all the way up to Louisville, to leave home. He wouldn't have travelled all the way up to Louisville if he wasn't seriously considering them. But I don't know if he's quite to the point where we can narrow it down to those two teams."
