One of Mirkovic's four finalists – Marquette – recently had a major coaching change when Tom Crean left the Golden Eagles for Indiana. Earlier this week, Marquette named assistant Buzz Williams as Crean's replacement.
"I'm kind of disappointed about (Tom) Crean leaving but that's just the way it is," Mirkovic said. "Buzz Williams, their former assistant, is now the head coach. I love Coach Williams, so it's fine."
Mirkovic made an unofficial visit to Louisville early last month and the Cardinals are still involved with the 6-foot-11 forward. After learning over the weekend that sophomore forward Earl Clark is bolting early to the NBA, Louisville assistant Walter McCarty gave Mirkovic a call Monday to check in with him.
"He talked about possibly taking a visit at the beginning of May or something like that. So we'll see," Mirkovic said.
Northwestern and DePaul also remain in the mix with Mirkovic.
"I'll probably visit Northwestern sometime soon but I'm not sure if I will visit DePaul," Mirkovic said. "I plan to visit at least three schools. It will depend on my schedule. I have a lot of school work and I really have to push my grades up. I'm also taking the ACT real soon, probably at the end of April."
