Another possible late addition?

Posted May 28, 2008

One of the top cover corners for the '08 class in Mississippi has been busy showing his skills to potential college suitors.

"Miami and FSU came up here," added Olive Branch head coach, Scott Samsel. "But you know how they are. They have so many players to recruit. But hey, you may shake a tree limb down here and the leaves fall out. You just never know. The Mississippi schools have been by here. Michigan has been by too."

Which schools are the main players in KeShun Cowan's recruitment?

"The best thing he has working right now is Ole Miss. A lot of people are showing interest but nobody has pulled the (scholarship) trigger. MSU, Memphis, Arkansas State, and Louisville are also very interested in KeShun right now."

And who is on the top of Cowan's list?

"I think Ole Miss, MSU, and Memphis are definitely on his radar. But honestly, I think he is leaning towards Ole Miss and MSU."

Grades are still an issue for the All-Region 1(5A).

"If his grades were right. He would already have a bunch of offers. He is going to take some extra classes to get him qualified. He is now on the Cellular South Game Plan. Both Rod Woodson and KeShun Cowan are on it now. Hey, Marlon Walls got on that plan and he is now going to make it. He passed the state test and has his core. He just needs to make the ACT test now. I think he is going to make it. He put in the work. I will tell you that. Now KeShun and Rod need to do the same thing."
