Louisville high on Hammock's list
Tyquan Hammock's recruitment is starting to heat up. Considered one of the top prospects in Indiana, the three-star Fort Wayne Bishop Luers linebacker has seen interest in his recruitment pick up in recent weeks. Hammock, who has an offer from Louisville, also sounds interested in the Cardinals. "Recruiting is going good," Hammock said. "I just got an offer from Michigan State and I was at Illinois on Saturday and I did real well at their camp. I think (Illinois) is on the verge of offering. (Tuesday) I'm going for a workout at Notre Dame." A talented 6-1, 215-pound linebacker, Hammock has had a busy summer, recently visiting both Michigan State and Illinois. Hammock said he plans to make unofficial visits to Iowa and Wisconsin in July. Currently, Hammock holds BCS-level offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Indiana, Northwestern and Minnesota. "As of right now all of the schools that have offered stand about the same," said Hammock. "(Louisville) is a great offer to have. So they sit pretty high on my list but I don't have a top 5 or anything like that." As for Louisville, Hammock sees many positives with the Cardinals football program. "I really like Louisville," Hammock said. "I really like their style of play and they're in a great conference. I just fell if I had the opportunity to go out there and play for Louisville's staff and team I think I would fit really well with their style of play." Hammock, who wants to major in Communications and Criminal Justice, said academics will play a major role in his decision. He also said finding a school where he can get early playing opportunity will be a huge factor in his decision. "I'll probably make a few unofficial visits right now and then sometime in October when everyone's season has started I'll probably make official visits to various schools," Hammock said. "Academics are high on my list of factors. I'm also looking for somewhere not too far from home and, obviously (early) playing time. I'm looking for a place that feels like home to me." Hammock led his team to the 2A state title last season, recording 164 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
