"I am still looking at some schools, but I am going to start narrowing things down soon because I am going to graduate this semester. And I will be starting school this coming spring semester," said Higgs.
To date, Higgs has collected 14 scholarship offers including Mississippi State, South Carolina, FIU, Louisville, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, N.C. State, Arkansas State, Purdue, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, and FAU. Higgs has begun to narrow his focus and says he has made some cuts to his list. Higgs didn't reveal his trimmed list.
"I still have seven schools that I am looking at for my five official visits," said Higgs.
Higgs mentioned Louisville, West Virginia, and South Carolina as programs that he is taking a hard look. It is a safe bet that those three schools are strong candidates to receive official visits.
Higgs was not as active on the summer camping scene as some opting for off-season training and conditioning. Higgs did have one chance to show his stuff in a camp setting and he didn't disappoint.
"I think I had a very productive summer. I went to one team camp and I won an award as Coach's choice player of the week," said Higgs.
Higgs will begin to select the schools for official visits once school starts in August. He will make his college choice not too long after that.
"I will be selecting what schools I will visit during the season. I will be playing most of my games on Thursday's and I don't have school on Friday so that is when I will be taking my visits," said Higgs. "I am going to make my decision around the end of the season."
