Louisville will be without their top defensive back when Pat White and the West Virginia Mountaineers come to town this Saturday. Senior cornerback Woodny Turenne suffered a season-ending injury against Cincinnati and will be sorely missed in the Cardinals secondary.

Turenne, arguably Louisville’s top cornerback, saw his season come to an end Friday night while recording his fifth interception on the year.

“Woodny, ironically, broke his clavicle on the play where he intercepted the ball,” Steve Kragthorpe said. “It just kind of got planted into the turf as he dove to intercept the pass. It was a clean (break) no surgery or anything like that.”

“Hopefully he’ll be back in four or five weeks,” Kragthorpe added.

Kragthorpe said that veterans Travis Norton and Marcus Folmer and true freshman Karldell Dunning will via to replace Turenne in the UofL lineup.

"All three of those guys will get a chance to compete for (Woodny's) job," said Kragthorpe.

Kragthorpe noted that sophomore offensive guard Mark Wetterer, a starter in several games this season, is finished for the year after undergoing surgery last week to repair a torn PCL.

Two players, Hunter Cantwell and Victor Anderson are both fine and expected to play against West Virginia. Cantwell took a hard shot at the end of Louisville’s 28-20 loss to Cincinnati, while Anderson left the game in the second half with an injury and didn’t return.

“They’ll be fine and will be ready for the game barring something unforeseen,” Kragthorpe said.
