Georgia OL holds Louisville offer

Gensen Scott, a 6-3, 275-pound offensive lineman from Lithonia (GA) King, holds six offers, including two from BCS programs. One of Scott's BCS offers is from Louisville. Is the talented Georgia lineman interested in the Cardinals?

Gensen Scott holds offers from Louisville, NC State, Akron, ECU, AlcornState and New Mexico. While Scott has had an offer from Louisville for a while, NC State recently became his second BCS-level offer.

"The NC State (offer) was a good one," Scott said. "I like their coach. I'm not trying to go to that school but it's one of the one's I would go to."

And what about Louisville – is Scott considering the Cardinals? "Louisville – that's cool, but I'd rather be somewhere where it's hot," Scott said. "I don't think I would go there. I talked with their coach when he came to (school) but that's about it."

Scott hasn't been out on the camp or visit tour this summer but might take an unofficial visit to ECU July 17. While he currently holds six offers, Scott hopes a few SEC programs will come calling this season. "I'm getting calls (from) the (SEC) but nothing really serious," said Scott. "I'd like to play in the SEC. I'd like to go to Georgia."

While Scott excels as a tackle in high school, most of the schools recruiting him project him as a guard. Scott says his strength is run blocking and he's looking for a program that likes to run the ball that will showcase his blocking skills.

"They (coaches) say they like my aggressiveness off the ball," Scott said. "I'm good at pass blocking and run blocking. I pass block good but I think my biggest strength is run blocking. I can do anything an offensive lineman is supposed to do well."

Scott also plays baseball (Scott plays first base) and that could factor into his decision. Scott said he'll make some visits and weigh his options this fall before choosing a college program.

"I'm trying to play both sports at the same school," Scott said. "I think I will wait and see what baseball offers I get before I make a decision."
