Three-star lineman looking hard at Louisville

Terrence Swift, a massive three-star offensive tackle from Fairfield (AL) HS, has a leader in his recruitment. Swift made an unofficial visit to Louisville this summer and he's planning an official visit with the Cardinals this fall.

Terrence Swift holds scholarship offers from Louisville and Southern Mississippi as his senior season is about to start.

"Right now he's still undecided," Fairfield coach Jim Vakakis said. "He's looking at Louisville, Southern Miss, Auburn has expressed interest. He likes Louisville a lot. He likes the school and the town."

Swift and his father made an unofficial visit to Louisville in June to check out the Cardinals. "It was nice. I had fun up there," Swift said. "We toured the campus and the facilities. I like their facilities and didn't expect it to be that nice. I talk with Coach (Brent) Guy every week or two."

Louisville is in the lead
for Terrence Swift.

Though he's not ready to make a decision, Swift said Louisville is the leader for his eventual commitment this fall. "Right now (Louisville) is at the top (of the list)," Swift said. "One reason is that they were the first to offer me and I liked the campus and the coaches when I visited there. They showed me love."

While it's not official yet, Swift said he plans to make his official visit to Louisville Ocotober 2 when the Cardinals host Pittsburgh at PJCS.

"I plan to go to Louisville for an official visit in October when they play Pittsburgh," Swift said. "We've got our game on Thursday so I'll probably go up there that Friday. That's not set in stone but that's what I'm thinking at this point."

Swift also plans to make an official visit to Southern Miss this season. "I've watched them on TV on saw them play when the played UAB here," said Swift. "I like them even though they're in Conference USA. They're a good team."

While Louisville holds an important edge heading into the fall, Swift plans to wait and see if schools like Florida State and Auburn offer before he makes a decision.

"I'm still hearing from Florida State, Auburn and South Alabama," Swift said. "I'm going to wait and see what other offers come around before I commit."

Swift is rated the No. 80 offensive lineman nationally by Scout.com and would be a significant addition to Louisville's 2010 recruiting class.

"He's a great character kid and has tremendous grades and is fully qualified," said Vakakis. "He's a hard worker and he's a big ole' kid. They (college coaches) like him because he's very coachable."
