"It's the same thing, I'm just taking my time," Shaw said.
Blackshear and Shaw talked all summer about attending the same college. The two made an unofficial visit to Louisville over the summer and returned in the fall for another visit during football season. While Louisville accepted a verbal commitment from Blackshear recently, the Cardinals still appear to be in evaluation mode on Shaw, the No. 44 ranked prospect in his class.
"Louisville is still one of my top schools," Shaw said. "I hope they're still interested in me because I'm still interested in them."
Shaw didn't accompany Blackshear during a recent visit to Louisville during the holiday break. Still, he plans to visit Louisville this season to watch a game.
"I want to get down to some games this season at Louisville," Shaw said.
Shaw's high school team recently played in the City of Palms Classic in Florida. Though his team lost to Florida's Sagemont School 67-47, Shaw was outstanding against 7-0 Fab Melo, finishing with 20 points, 9 rebounds and three blocks against the Syracuse recruit.
"It's going good," Shaw said. "I'm playing well. I'm posting double-doubles every game. I'm more aggressive this year. I think I've just got the right mindset."
