Visit set; Faust one of Pitino's top targets?
Nick Faust, a four-star shooting guard from Baltimore, MD., has one official visit set – and he's not thinking about any other visits just yet. Faust, an excellent three-point marksman who is rated the No. 57 prospect nationally by Scout.com, has scheduled his first official visit to Louisville for the weekend of September 4. That figures to be a huge recruiting weekend for the Cardinals, who will also host elite 2011 recruits Quincy Miller, Deuce Bello, Josiah Turner, Wayne Blackshear and Zach Price. "I talked to Coach [Tim] Fuller and Coach [Rick] Pitino the other day and they want me to come [visit]," Faust said. "[Pitino] told me that they definitely need a shooter/scorer from the perimeter in that class. He said I'm their top guy to do that. So I've got interest in them, and their style of play fits mine." The Cardinals also got an assist from Miller, Scout.com's No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2011. Miller is also making an official visit to Louisville Sept. 4 and convinced Faust to join him on campus. "Quincy Miller asked me to come to Louisville on that date so we both decided to come down on September 4th," Faust said. "We know each other from the EYBL league and seeing each other play [on the circuit]." Faust says he and Miller, a 6-foot-9 forward, have discussed playing together in college. "He likes Louisville a lot," Faust said. "We talked about how [Louisville] would be a great look for both of us to play together." A recent addition to Faust's list, Louisville has made a strong impression on the talented wing prospect this summer. "I haven't done any research but I know a few things about them," Faust said. "The other day Coach Fuller told me about their [arena] and how they always have a sell-out." Where does Louisville stand on Faust's list of favorites? "I don't have any favorites but I definitely have interest in [Louisville]," Faust said. "I would say [my interest] is very high. I would fit very well [there]. I just want to make an impact as a freshman." Fuller, who replaced Walter McCarty in June, has been the primary contact with Faust. Pitino's new assistant maintains frequent contact with Faust. "We communicate three or four times a week," Faust said. "They're looking at me as a shooting guard. They've been telling me that they're trying to bring in me, Wayne Blackshear, Quincy Miller and Zach Price. I know Wayne, he's my man. We've talked about Louisville. He likes the idea [playing together]." While his visit to Louisville is scheduled, Faust isn't really getting serious about setting any other official visits just yet. "I haven't set up any other visits yet," Faust said. "Louisville will be my first visit. I haven't really thought about [visiting other schools], probably schools like Maryland, Kansas, Marquette, Texas and Tennessee. I'm just going to check out [Louisville] and then make my decision [about other visits]."
