Focus 2015: RB Myles Washington
Myles Washington talked about John Curtis capturing its first-ever national title. "It felt real good," he said. "I feel like we deserved it because we worked hard and worked together as a team." Washington, 5-9 1/2 and 190 pounds, utilizes a similar running style as junior teammate George Moreira. "George and I work out together," Washington said. "My strengths as a back are cutting between the tackles and blocking. I'm good at pass-blocking. "My best game was against Riverside Academy. I had a tackle on special teams that forced a fumble." Washington is fond of Alabama. "I camped with Bama and really like the environment," he said. "Coach Burns showed me individual attention which I liked. "It would be nice to stay close to home in the SEC." The sophomore had a season-high 61 yards on three carries in the Patriots' week one win over St. Paul's. Curtis went 14-0 in 2012 with a deep stable of backs. A total of 10 Patriots topped the 100-yard rushing mark. In addition to his positive experience in Tuscaloosa last year, Washington participated in the National Underclassmen Combine. He performed well at the Ultimate 100 and earned an invite to the NUC Top Prospect Camp.
