Top 50 prospect visits Louisville women

Aliyah Mazyck is a top 50 prospect in the Class of 2015 from Charlotte, N.C., who made a visit to Louisville last week for Elite Camp. Cardinal Authority caught up with Mazyck for an update.

Aliyah Mazyck is considered one of the top 50 prospects in the Class of 2015 and has a ton of recruiting interest from all over the country.

The 5-foot-9 guard from Charlotte, N.C., visited the University of Louisville for Elite Camp and said she "did pretty decent." She was just getting over a bout with mono.

"I just try and play ball," she said. "I felt like I did pretty good. I just play."

Mazyck plays high school ball for Myers Park and led her team to a state title as a junior. Mazyck averaged 22 points and five assists a game for Myers Park.

While she said U of L is "coming after me hard," Mazyck also said the other teams after her are USC, Texas A&M, Auburn and Duke along with her saying "there are others."

"I have been thinking about it a lot and just want to make the best decision for me," she said. "I just have to pray for the best."

Mazyck was making her first trip to U of L and said she "was impressed" with the Cardinals.

"Coach (Jeff) Walz was straight up," she said. "He didn't beat around the bush and just told me things straight up. I liked that and I really liked the players, talking to them. It was good."
