Adel pledges to Louisville
Louisville was the first high-major school to prioritize Deng Adel and it paid off on Monday. A pair of sources informed Scout.com that Adel, a 6-foot-7 five-star wing out of Bradenton (Fla.) Victory Rock Prep, committed to the Cardinals. Adel’s high school coach – Loren Jackson – eventually confirmed the news. “They were in on it early,” Jackson said. “They had just built a great rapport with him and that was the major difference. He just felt really, really comfortable. They did a good job.” Adel had a strong spring playing with the Florida Elite program. He's an exceptional athlete that plays well in transition and in space. He's a good shooter to the three-point line and is capable of making mid-range pull-ups as well. He also fits what Louisville wants to do defensively. “The style of play really fits him,” Adel said. “We play the same way. The individual instruction we do. The thing I can remember is him saying when we went on the unofficial visit and watching the workouts is ‘we do that drill’ and “we do this drill.’ He just felt very comfortable with everything there.” Louisville assistant Mike Balado played a major role in the Adel recruitment too. Adel is also close friends and from the same country as current Louisville center Mangok Mathiang. Adel ranks as the No. 2 small forward prospect and No. 18 overall in the 2015 class. Adel is Louisville's first pledge of the 2015 recruiting class.
